Trueveal
Privacy Policy
Effective: April 2026
Your privacy matters. This policy explains what information Trueveal collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
Trueveal collects the following types of information:
- Home data — addresses, system ages, utility costs, and financial inputs you enter manually
- Account information — when you sign up, we store your email address or a unique identifier from Apple or Google sign-in
- Anonymous session data — on first launch, a temporary anonymous account is created to allow you to explore the app before signing up
How We Store Your Data
Home data is stored in two places:
- Locally on your device — using AsyncStorage for fast, offline access
- Firebase Firestore — encrypted cloud storage linked to your account, enabling cross-device sync. This data is scoped to your user ID and is not accessible to other users.
If you use the app anonymously (without creating an account), your data is stored on-device only and is not synced to the cloud.
How We Use Your Information
Data you enter is used exclusively to:
- Compute home health scores and true ownership costs
- Generate AI-powered insights and repair recommendations
- Estimate utility, tax, and insurance costs
- Sync your homes across devices when signed in
We do not sell, share, or monetize your data.
Third-Party Services
Trueveal contacts the following services:
- Firebase (Google) — authentication and cloud data sync. Governed by Firebase's privacy policy.
- Sign in with Apple — optional sign-in provider. Apple may relay an anonymized email if you choose to hide your real address.
- Anthropic API — AI analysis. Your home data is sent to generate insights. Governed by Anthropic's privacy policy.
- Google Places API — address autocomplete and lookup
- NREL (National Renewable Energy Laboratory) — electric utility lookup
- Freddie Mac PMMS / FRED — current mortgage rate
- Sentry — anonymized crash and performance diagnostics to help us fix bugs. No home data is included in crash reports.
- PostHog — privacy-friendly product analytics (e.g., which screens are used). Tied to your user ID but not used for advertising or shared with third parties.
None of these services receive data beyond what is necessary for the feature they power. We do not use any of these services for tracking across other apps or websites.
Data Deletion
You can delete your data at any time:
- Delete your account in-app — open Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your authentication record and all cloud-synced data (homes, insights, preferences) from our servers, and clears local data on your device. This action cannot be undone.
- Delete individual homes within the app at any time
- Uninstalling the app removes all local data immediately
- If you need additional assistance, contact us at privacy@trueveal.app
Children's Privacy
Trueveal is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent update. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
